TENNIS ELBOW

EXPLAINATION & TREATMENTS

WHAT IS TENNIS ELBOW?

Tennis elbow, also known as medial epicondylitis, is a condition that causes pain and inflammation on the inside part of your elbow. It’s most common in people who spend a lot of time playing tennis or other racket sports.

Tennis elbow is caused by repetitive motion, which can include gripping a tennis racquet, using your hands to grip objects or work with tools, and reaching overhead with your arms. This can lead to pain and inflammation in the tendons around your elbow joint.

Common Symptoms

  • Pain and tenderness in the forearm and elbow
  • Pain on moving the forearm or elbow to the side
  • Pain when extending the wrist or rotating the wrist
  • Stiffness in the joint
  • Swelling of the joint

TREATMENTS FOR TENNIS ELBOW

If you have a tennis elbow, you may feel like your life is over. You can’t play your favorite sport and you’re missing out on all the fun of playing with friends and family. But you don’t have to give up tennis altogether if you want to continue playing!

There are ways you can prevent or treat Tennis Elbow from happening too often. Here are some tips:

  • Avoid using excessive force when performing any movements with your arms such as lifting weights or throwing balls into baskets. If you need more force than normal then use lighter weights until you develop greater strength without strain on your muscles or joints.
  • Don’t overuse your wrists when playing tennis because this increases the risk of suffering from Tennis Elbow after a long game session so make sure you take breaks between sets so that your muscles don’t get too tired before resuming play again later on down the line!
  • Warm up before playing each day by stretching your arm muscles for 10 minutes on an exercise machine at home or in a gym.

INJECTIONS FOR TENNIS ELBOW

Tennis elbow is an inflammation of the tendons around your elbow that causes pain and swelling at the base of your fingers. It is caused by overuse or injury to your forearm muscles and tendons. The most common treatments include rest, ice packs and anti-inflammatory medication. However, you may also need an injection to help reduce pain and inflammation in your elbow ligaments or tendons.

Steroid injection for Tennis Elbow

Steroid injections are a common procedure used to treat tennis elbow. Steroid injections are usually given once or twice per week and last from two weeks to six months.

Steroids are often used to treat tennis elbow because they provide long-lasting relief for pain and inflammation associated with this condition. A steroid injection involves injecting a small amount of corticosteroid medicine into the affected area, usually around two inches above the elbow joint. The steroid medication is absorbed through the skin and slowly released into the body over time, which helps reduce inflammation and pain.

Hyaluronic Acid (Ostenil) Injection for Tennis Elbow

The injection of hyaluronic acid into the tennis elbow is a procedure that can help to reduce pain and improve your range of motion. This injection is performed by a certified medical professional who has appropriate training and experience in performing this procedure.

During this procedure, a small needle is inserted into the joint. The area around the injection site will be numbed with local anesthesia before inserting the needle. Once this has been completed, a small amount of hyaluronic acid will be injected into your tendon or muscle tissue.

When used for pain relief following an acute injury on the tendon inside your elbow joint, hyaluronic acid injections have been shown to be effective in reducing inflammation and improving blood flow to help speed healing time.
